Whoa, this is super-scary! If you like horror movies, be sure to watch this one!

Ivana Baquero’s 3rd movie.

Synopsis

The Mercy Falls Children’s Hospital is about to close its doors for good. But the closing process is taking longer than expected; a railroad accident has left the local hospitals without beds.

Amy, a young nurse, is sent to help out. But the children are nervous. And afraid. Because this hospital holds a secret. Something terrifying that has returned from the past.

To discover it and protect the kids, Amy must face up to everything: the rest of the hospital staff who refuse to accept the obvious, her own fears, and the truth

Starring: Calista Flockhart, Richard Roxburgh, and the wonderful Ivana Baquero. Directed by Jaume Balagueró.

Horror: 5 Stars

Honestly, this movie is super-scary, not for the light of heart. I’m sure you will have stood the test of time if you can finish the movie without hiding under your bed! You can take this as a dare!

Director: 4 Stars

Jaume Balagueró is certainly one of the most talented of directors, mastering the art of scaring people to death! Intimidating unwary viewers with his extremely tense horror. If you enjoy this movie, I’d certainly recommend his other movies!

Storyline: 3 Stars

There’s a mystery to be solved, crimes so obscure which scare you to even think of… All in all the story is tense and gripping, and won’t leave you bored at any point.

Acting: 3 Stars

Flockhart and Roxburgh are well matured acting talents and seemed to know exactly what they were supposed to be doing. Good Job on their part.

Ivana Baquero

Ivana Baquero’s role in this movie was extremely short and in my opinion didn’t leave her enough room to show her talent… nevertheless her role is a very important one and her character’s presence is felt throughout the movie. I can’t tell you too much about her role as it is in a bit of a spoiler, but just keep an eye open for it!

Conclusion

Fragile is a great movie Really scary! But there is one major problem… it needs a LOT more of Ivana in!

Enjoy!

Ivana Baquero’s second movie, but quite conroversial in the Ivana Baquero fan community (which I will discuss later on in this article).

However, I really enjoyed the movie and thought that it was quite well developed, though the production side lacked a little.

The film is in English and is a horror movie, so expect a few screams!

Synopsis

It is a duel. A man escaping from his past, pursued by the Beast that will haunt him and destroy those around him until he finally honors a lovers´ vow and confronts his destiny.

Imagine an adventurous young couple, teenagers escaping the world of consumerism and comfortable conformity by playing the game of infiltration, the practice of entering into dangerous situations in which you don´t belong. They do it just for the rush, the adrenaline rush, the pure passion for life, for love, as only the young can love. A love more important than life itself.

But infiltrating a boatload of immigrants who are washed up on a dangerous shore, a land ruled by the merciless iron fist of Colonel Kufard, takes the lovers beyond the dangers of the game and into a nightmare realm of violence and damnation. A new game with new rules played to the death.

A desperate fugitive, running from the past, pursued by ROTT, the beast that stops at nothing to carry out the order to kill. A rottweiler left for dead that comes back ever stronger, with fangs and jaws of steel and a single-minded bloodlust. Reinforced with modern technology and possessed of an ancient evil that will not die until it has devoured the heart and possessed the soul of its prey.

A chase across a landscape of terror where there is no friend, no refuge, no respite from relentless violence and cruelty,… there is only the hunter and the hunted.

Horror: 3 stars

To an unwary viewer, this will be found as an exceedingly scary movie, but to the accostommed eye, perhaps it might be a bit old-fashioned.

The horror takes the form of a tension throughout, which rarely gives way.

Storyline: 3 Stars

There’s a relatively good storline attached to the movie, whcih will be able to keep your attention through the duration of the movie!

Music: 2 Stars

Music is as could be expected from a small budget production, but it’s not iritating either.

Acting: 3 Stars

Apart from Ivana Baquero, the acting is fairly basic, nothing bad, but nthing special either…

Ivana Baquero: 4 Stars

Ivana’s role is a little longer than her previous role in Romasanta, and assumes more of a supportive possition. I think in total we have about 5-10 minutes screen-time with Ivana (worth the time taken watching the movie) an she has quite a few lines (in half broken english)

Ivana Baquero executes her part with the perfect balence of emotions and certainty in her role.

I thought the movie was well worth the watch if even if only to see Ivana for a few minutes!

Parental Guidance

This is perhaps the area in which the movie fails… A man (the main character) is stock-naked for a few minutes in the movie, and it appears that he is so when he meets Ivana Baquero’s character.

There is an explicit sex scene. But the movie doesn’t dwell on it for too long.

A quick word to Ivana fans: There’s enough of Ivana in non-sex scenes to be able to enjoy it, though that initial scene is quite shocking.

Conclusion

Apart from a few errors, the movie is well worth the watch if you want to see more of Ivana, and her role is quite a reasonable one.

So go ahead and enjoy!

Romasanta Reviewed

Romasanta was Ivana Baquero’s first acting role, and I really really enjoyed the movie, though I think there could have been one or two improvements…

Language of the film is English, and is directed by the acclaimed Spanish director: Paco Plaza (.REC).

Synopsis

The film is based on true events, or rather, it is based on a legend that evolved from true events. The movie parallels with the French movie: “Brotherhood of the wolf” and starts off with the strange murder of a few people, reportedly by a wolf… I would call the film, Brotherhood of the wolf as it should have been.

In a little village in Spain there have been numerous reports of death by wolves, this becomes a great problem, and immediately they have to get a psychological professor to come and help locate the whereabouts of the mysterious murderer-wolf, of is it a wolf? This is where the plot develops from.

A Warewolf Fantasy.

Storyline: 3 Stars

You will find the storyline quite enveloping, and it follows a great backbone story! Not tedious at all, nothing super-special though.

Visuals and Graphics: 4 Stars

The whole filming and graphics of the film are superbly done in the special way that only a Spanish director knows how; in other words, the directing is perfect! Though some people may suffer from the movies lack of big budget effects.

Acting: 3 Stars

Romasanta has a lovely cast with Julian Sands in the lead possition, and one very special appearance, the star of the show in my opinion: Ivana Baquero!

Julian Sands: 3 Stars

Julian Sands performance in this movie wasn’t anything superb, but he certainly gave a spooky impression throughout.

Ivana Baquero: 4 Stars

And the part that we’ve been waiting for… What was Ivana’s role like?

Ivana didn’t have more than about 1 or 2 minutes screen time, and I can’t say too much about her role because it’s a semi-spoiler, but with the time that she had, she showed pure emotion and character, and you could really start to feel for her.

My only problem was: I wish there was more of her in this movie!

Parental Guidance

As far as parental guidance goes, it isn’t as bad as could be expected, there is a nasty bath scene, but Plaza does not dwell on it for long, and it doesn’t spoil the film in any way. Apart from that there is a slight bit of nudity, then the rest of the film is very clean. Language is to a minimum also.

Conclusion

I really enjoyed this movie, and I hope that you do too. If your a fan of Ivana, I’d say it’s certainly worth the watch!

Enjoy!
